Can any of you remember that nasty blizzard of December '07 or the hurricane of September '08? No? Really?? Oh thats right, you probably can't because you were too busy gettin' your art on at FluxTask 1 and FluxTask 2! Well guess what! For those of you who thought it would never happen, we are out to prove you wrong! FluxTASK 3, officially titled REtask is coming! Oliver Herring is partnering up with the Flux Family again, to bring you the third incarnation of everyone's favorite art-making, neighbor-meeting party! YOUR PRELIMINARY INVITATION DETAILS: FOOD CONTEST! REtask will still have a neighborhood pig roast at BUT we are giving YOU the opportunity to show off your culinary skills, Julie & Julia style or cool-shaped PBNJ sandwhich style! Thats right, a new component to task, a FOOD CONTEST judged by a secret neighborhood grillmaster. Bring your best dish (enough to share with 10 people) to REtask to enter into the contest. Post judging, the top prize winner will go home with a piece of art donated by.....OLIVER HERRING!! CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! You are RIGHT if you were thinking that all of us little worker bees behind the scenes were having tons of fun being in the know on the whole event. So guess what! This year, you don't have to settle for being just a participator! You can help out and be a part of the REtask family before the event! Make it more than just a one-night stand! For those of you who want to get involved, we have TONS of opportunities. You can help out in the weeks preceding REtask, on the day of, or the day after, whatever fits into your schedule. This year our goal is to make the task party as eco and wallet friendly as possible! Therefore we would like to inform our friends that we are asking task party-goers to come to REtask armed with a material of their choice (ex. rolls of tape, scrap paper, glue, feather boas, the entire contents of your kitchen junk drawer). We are NOT asking you to go out to the store and buy a material to bring, whatever you have lying around your house that you think could be used SOMEhow to make SOMEthing, bring THAT! Please DO NOT bring items that are sharp, combustible, explosive or otherwise dangerous; remember, this is a family affair. ALSO, cleaning house?! Aside from donating actual time as in the volunteer section above, you can donate your art or craft supplies prior to the event. Pretend we're a thrift store!
